The Stanley Cup Final has yet to begin, but the Detroit Red Wings have already announced their preseason schedule for the 2015-16 season.

The Red Wings will play in a total of eight games, starting with a road contest with Original Six rival Chicago at the United Center on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 8:30 p.m.

The Wings’ first home game will be the following night, when they host the same Blackhawks, with a puck drop scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Detroit will also be taking on their former coach, as they have two games with Mike Babcock and the Toronto Maple Leafs – at home on Oct. 2 and on the road on Oct. 3 to close out their preseason slate of games.

Six of the Wings’ eight games are with Original Six opponents (Toronto, Boston and Chicago), with the other two taking place against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
