While he was on the air with the NHL Network yesterday, USHL commissioner Bob Fallen announced details about the next top prospects game for the league he oversees.

The 2016 USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game will be held on Jan. 12, 2016 at the home of the Omaha Lancers in Nebraska.

“We are excited to offer fans, players and NHL talent evaluators a top-notch showcase event that not only helps solidify our league’s position in the developmental landscape, but offers NHL caliber talent in a high-quality venue for everyone to enjoy,” said Fallen, USHL President and Commissioner. “We invite fans from across the region to join us in Omaha to see future NHL and NCAA elite talent all under one roof.”

The top prospects game annually presents the top draft-eligible players from the Tier I junior league in the U.S. It is designed to both function as an all-star game and as a platform for the top USHL players to showcase their skills in front of scouts and coaches from pro and college teams.

Last year, the top prospects game featured names like Kyle Connor, Cooper Marody and Ryan Larkin.

Since 2002, the USHL is the only Tier I junior league sanctioned with USA Hockey.
