Little Caesars Amateur Hockey and Legacy Global Sports announced today a series of new events for the upcoming season, which they are calling their “Challenge Series” tournaments.

The LCAHL will be holding the new “Challenge Series” tournaments for A and AA teams over the course of three weekends.

Oct. 23-25 – Kalamazoo – Howe and Lidstrom Divisions

Dec. 11-13 – Trenton – Howe and Lidstrom Divisions

Jan. 15-18 – Trenton – Yzerman Division

The tournaments will bring opponents from across North America to compete with Michigan-based A and AA programs.

“This tournament will be a fun way for AA & A youth teams from all over the country to come together and play opponents from different leagues which they don’t play often,” said Little Caesars Amateur Hockey League Commissioner Joe Emery. “We’re expecting a tournament full of top-notch competition for our Little Caesars teams, which are consistently among the best anywhere at these levels.”

Each tournament will feature a bracket format with a four-game minimum for participating teams. Division breakdowns will be at competitive levels for every age group, ranging from 8 to 17 years old.

A girls’ “Challenge Series” tournament will be announced at a later date, as well.
