Larkin’s two goals lead Griffins to 4-2 win in series-evening Game 2 victory in Utica

It didn’t take long for Dylan Larkin to score his first goal of his professional hockey career – nor did it take long for him to have a big impact on a game’s outcome.

The Waterford native scored at the 15-minute mark of the first period in his second careeer AHL game, then scored again three minutes later to set his Grand Rapids Griffins on course for a 4-2 victory in Game 2 of their AHL Western Conference Finals matchup with the Utica Comets.

With the win, the Griffins even their series with the Comets, with Games 3, 4 and 5 coming back to Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, starting Thursday night.

Two of the hottest scorers in the AHL also found the back of the net for the Griffins in the Memorial Day victory, as Teemu Pulkkinen and Tyler Bertuzzi added second-period markers.
