USA Hockey has announced the 23-man roster they will be sending to the upcoming International Ice Hockey Federation Under-18 Men’s World Championship from April 16-26 in Zug and Lucerne, Switzerland.

Two Michigan natives are on the roster, which is made up of the National Team Development Program Under-18 Team, three additions from the NTDP U17 Team, and one goaltender from the WHL.

Plymouth native Nick Boka will be on Team USA’s blue line, while Carleton native Brendan Warren will be part of the American forwards.

The three call-ups from the NTDP U17s are Clayton Keller (Swansea, Ill.), Chad Krys (Ridgefield, Conn.) and goaltender Jake Oettinger (Lakeville, Minn.).

Evan Sarthou (Black Diamond, Wash.), a goaltender who spent the 2014-15 season with the Tri-City Americans of the WHL, is also on the roster.

With both of their NCAA seasons concluded, there was a possibility of NTDP alums Zach Werenski (Grosse Pointe) and Noah Hanifin returning, but neither appear on the roster. Both are expected to be high first-round draft picks in the upcoming 2015 NHL Draft.

NTDP U18 Team coach Don Granato will be the head coach for the team.

The U.S. will begin play in the tournament on April 16, when they take on Russia at 12:45 p.m. ET.
