According to College Hockey, Inc., Tanner Kero is Michigan’s MVP when it comes to the 2014-15 college hockey season.

In honor of USA Hockey’s Hockey Weekend Across America, College Hockey, Inc. picked state-by-state MVPs, and they tabbed Kero for our hockey-crazed state.

Kero, a Hancock native, currently holds 40 points in 32 NCAA games this season, which puts him in a tie for fourth place in the country. He’s a big reason why Michigan Tech has already secured home ice in the WCHA playoffs, and why the Huskies checked in at No. 4 in this week’s USCHO college hockey poll.

The next Michigan native in the scoring race is Cody Wydo, an Allen Park native currently playing for Robert Morris. Wydo has 39 points in 30 games, good for a seventh-place tie in the NCAA-wide points total.

University of Michigan freshman Dylan Larkin has 32 points on the year – the Waterford native is in his freshman season in Ann Arbor, while the two players above him are both seniors.
