Colin Larkin has had quite a year out east.

The Waterford native was named the ECAC East Hockey Rookie of the Year today, after an impressive freshman season with UMass Boston.

Larkin, 21, led all rookie skaters in his NCAA Division III league with nine goals and 24 total points, good for rookie of the year and all-rookie team selections. He posted 10 more points than any other freshman skater in the ECAC East.

Larkin spent the last two seasons with the Michigan Warriors of the NAHL, recording 37 points in 58 games last season. He was selected for the NAHL Top Prospects Showcase last year, as well.
