A report out of Marquette tonight doesn’t look good for Northern Michigan’s hockey coach.

UpperMichiganSource.com is reporting that Wildcats head coach Walt Kyle has been put on administrative leave by the university, and that he will not be traveling with the team this weekend for their games against Penn State.

From the article:

In response to why Kyle is on administrative leave says, NMU Athletic Director Forrest Karr said, “It’s the university’s standard practice not to comment on personnel issues.”

Karr also says Associate Director of Athletics, Bridget Berube Carter was also placed on administration leave at the same time. When asked why, Karr answered with, “It’s the university’s standard practice not to comment on personnel issues.”

It’s not known if the two incidents are related. Karr says it’s unknown how long the administrative leaves will be in place.
