They recorded a comeback win against Clarkson over the weekend, and now, the Big Ten’s recognizing the effort of three MSU hockey players.

Joe Cox (Chelsea), Thomas Ebbing (Troy) and Ryan Keller (Farmington Hills) were the three B1G hockey stars of the week, in that order, it was announced today by the league office.

Cox set a new career best with three points in the Spartans’ 6-4 win over Clarkson. The Muskegon Lumberjacks alum scored on a breakaway after taking a slash to his left side that merited a five-minute major penalty. Cox made Clarkson pay for the infraction by scoring on the ensuing power play, and setting up another goal during the extended man-advantage by forcing a turnover behind the visitors’ goal.

Ebbing recorded three points, as well, scoring the game-winning goal and picking up two assists. Meanwhile, Keller scored and added an assist in the 6-4 victory, as well.

It was the first B1G weekly honor for the three members of the MSU hockey program.
