Tomas Tatar named NHL’s second star of the week

The NHL announced their three stars of the week today, and Tomas Tatar cracked the list.

The Red Wings forward was named the league’s second star of the week, after he tied for second in the all of the NHL with four goals and one assist for five points during the time frame.

Tatar had two game-winning goals in a three-game span, leading the Wings (10-5-5, 25 points) to two victories.

The 23-year-old native of Ilava, Slovakia, scored game-winners in the Wings’ 5-0 win over Columbus and 4-3 win over Winnipeg.

Tatar is tied for the team lead in goals with nine and fourth on the team in points with 12.
