Three Michigan natives ranked in top 12 of ISS Hockey’s top freshmen list

ISS Hockey – a worldwide leader in independent scouting for hockey – released their list of the top 30 college hockey freshmen for the 2014-15 season, and three Michigan natives cracked the top 12 spots.

University of Michigan forward and Detroit Red Wings first-round pick Dylan Larkin was ranked No. 3 overall, behind only Jack Eichel (Boston University) and Noah Hanifin (Boston College). On Larkin, the ISS release (done in conjunction with College Hockey, Inc.) said that the Wolverines forward is “one of the most complete two-way players in his age group.”

Meanwhile, Larkin’s teammate Zach Werenski checks in at No. 7. Werenski, a Grosse Pointe native, is expected to be a first-round pick in this summer’s NHL Draft.

At No. 12 is Josh Jacobs, a freshman defenseman for the Michigan State Spartans and a New Jersey Devils second-round pick in 2014.
