It was a big week for Michigan natives and connections playing across various college and junior leagues, so the MiHockey team decided to compile all of the accolades and put them in one post.

Michigan Wolverines freshman forward (and Red Wings draft pick) Dylan Larkin (Waterford) was named the Big Ten’s second star of the week after recording one goal and five assists in two games on the East Coast over the weekend.

Western Michigan netminder Lukas Hafner (Toledo, Ohio) was named the NCHC’s goaltender of the week after helping the Broncos to a series split with No. 16 Alaska. Hafner stopped at least 30 shots each night, recording a 1.52 goals-against average and a .953 save percentage.

Michigan Tech’s Jamie Phillips (Caledonia, Ontario) took home the WCHA defensive player of the week selection after the Huskies’ netminder led his squad to a road sweep over Ferris State. Phillips stopped 33 shots in a 1-0 shutout win on Friday, then 34 in a 2-1 win on Saturday.

Shelby Township native Kyle Connor was named the USHL forward of the week after recording five points (one goal and four assists) for the Youngstown Phantoms. Connor, a University of Michigan commit, now leads the USHL with 15 points in nine games.

Muskegon Lumberjacks goaltender Eric Schierhorn (Anchorage, Alaska) posted a 1.00 goals-against average and a .969 save percentage en route to being named the USHL’s goaltender of the week.

Michigan State commit Jerad Rosburg (Clarksville, Md.) was named the USHL’s defenseman of the week after scoring a goal and posting a plus-four rating in a pair of games for his Sioux City Musketeers.

Grand Rapids native Sean Keating was named the NAHL’s North Division star of the week after stopping 26 shots on Friday for a 4-3 win, then stopping 19 more in Saturday for a 4-1 win.
