Josh Wesley scores highlight reel in Whalers’ opening weekend

It didn’t take long for one of the Plymouth Whalers’ top players to work his way into the hockey highlight reels for the 2014-15 season.

In just their second game of the season – and their home opener – Josh Wesley scored from what seemed like an impossible angle with a backhander…after completing a spin-o-rama around an Erie Otters defender.

The Whalers ended up losing 5-4 in OT. They are now 1-0-1-0 on the season after a 5-0 season-opening victory against London on Friday.
