Red Wings captain Henrik Zetterberg is offering up autographed photos if you help him raise funds for the Detroit Fire Department.

The first 100 fans that visit Hockeytown Authentics in Troy and make a $50 donation to the Detroit Red Wings Foundation will receive a limited-edition autographed 8″ x 10″ photo of the Wings’ No. 40. All funds up to $5,000 will be matched by the Zetterberg Foundation and donated directly to the Detroit Public Safety Foundation to buy needed equipment for Detroit firefighters. A $10,000 donation will enable the DPSF to purchase 142 Motorola Impress Batteries for the fire department’s prep radios.

“We have identified a critical need of replacing worn out batteries and this donation will purchase much needed equipment to help the Detroit Fire Department serve the citizens and visitors to the city of Detroit,” said Craig Dougherty, 2nd Deputy Fire Commissioner for the Detroit Fire Department, in a release. “We would like to thank the Zetterberg Foundation and the Detroit Red Wings Foundation for this thoughtful act.”

The Wings’ captain has been the team’s spokesman for their annual Smoke Detector Collection. Last year, Zetterberg made a donation of $11,400 to match the number of smoke detectors and cash Wings fans donated during two in-game smoke detector collection efforts.

The Original Six club will host their 13th annual Smoke Detector Collection during preseason home games on Sept. 25 and Sept. 27.
