Little Caesars Amateur Hockey formally announced today the appointment of Darren Eliot as its new Director of Minor Hockey Operations.

Eliot, a former NHL goaltender and current Fox Sports Detroit analyst for Detroit Red Wings hockey, will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Little Caesars AAA hockey program and the Little Caesars Amateur Hockey League. He will also be Little Caesars’ representative to USA Hockey, the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association and the High Performance Hockey League.

“I’m extremely excited to lead and continue the great legacy of Little Caesars hockey,” Eliot said in a press release. “There is no better or more recognizable youth hockey organization in the world than Little Caesars. Their commitment to excellence and developing young hockey players is second to none.”

Earlier this year, the Red Wings announced an increased youth hockey outreach by expanding its affiliation with the Little Caesars AAA program. Detroit management, coaches, players and alumni will share their expertise and facilities to help create programs designed to benefit the growth and development of Little Caesars coaches and players.
