In the middle of November, more than 140 teams will be coming to Michigan to take part in a massive girls’ hockey tournament, thanks to a merger between two of the best.

The World Hockey Invite (presented by Bauer) and the Manon Rheaume Tournament have joined together to create one massive girls’ tournament from Nov. 14-16 in the Metro Detroit area.

“This merger is between two like-minded events with a focus on providing the best competition”, Girl’s Tournament Director Tony Cachey said. “We are excited about what the future will hold for everyone and our ability to be a leader in the development/growth of girls’ hockey.”

Rheaume, who runs her Manon Rheaume Foundation to inspire girls to aim for their goals both in hockey and in life, said that the merger will offer the best competitive opportunity for girls across the globe in the weekend tournament.

“This is a great opportunity for two of the best girls’ events in the world, let alone Detroit, to come together and combine our resources to continue to provide better opportunities and improved player development in girls’ hockey,” stated Rheaume.  “Both events share a strong commitment to providing a first class experience and by joining forces, we will be able to glean the best from each other to improve upon what the event offers to all of our participants and their families.”

The Bauer World Invite is offering play at the U12, U14, U16 and U19 age groups and Tier 1/Tier II classifications (A and AA for Canadian teams).
