Big Ten announces 2014-15 conference schedule; JLA championship weekend info

The Big Ten hockey office announced the league’s 2014-15 conference schedule today, along with information about the first B1G Hockey Tournament to take place in Detroit.

After being held at the Xcel Energy Center this past March, the Big Ten’s tournament will now shift to Detroit, and take place at Joe Louis Arena on March 19-21, 2015. That would be a Thursday/Friday/Saturday championship weekend at The Joe.

The conference schedule kicks off in the Nov. 20-22 timeframe, with the following games (both featuring Michigan and Michigan State):

  • Thursday or Friday –  Nov. 20 or 21 – Michigan State at Ohio State
  • Friday or Saturday –  Nov. 21 or 22 –  Michigan State at Ohio State
  • Friday  Nov. 21 – Penn State at Michigan
  • Saturday  Nov. 22 – Penn State at Michigan

Michigan and Michigan State will first meet on Friday, Jan. 30 (at MSU), then again on Feb. 7 (at UM). They will also have a Friday/Saturday showdown on the final weekend of the regular season, which will be on March 13 and 14.
