The Big Ten announced their inaugural team and individual awards today, and JT Compher was named their freshman of the year.

The Wolverines’ rookie forward, a product of the National Team Development Program in Ann Arbor, claimed one of the four individual player honors, the league announced via Twitter at 4 p.m. ET.

Compher was also the only player to be a unanimous selection for any individual award, after he was selected by all participating media and coaches to the all-freshman team.
