The Hobey Baker Top 10 nominees were announced today, and CJ Motte made the cut.

The St. Clair native and standout goaltender for the Ferris State Bulldogs is the lone Michigan native to survive the first cut, after the official Hobey Baker site announced a list of candidates to vote for on Jan. 14.

Motte, a junior netminder for the Bulldogs, holds a 26-7-3 record this season, along with a goals-against average of 2.19 and .928 save percentage.

Last year, his first season playing significant time for FSU, Motte recorded a 15-15 record with a 2.19 goals-against and .923 save percentage.

Prior to his time in Big Rapids, Motte was star goaltender for the Waterloo Blackhawks of the USHL, and previously for the Traverse City North Stars of the NAHL. His younger brother, Tyler, is a freshman forward with the Michigan Wolverines.
