The National Hockey League and the Detroit Red Wings will unveil a donation to the Clark Park Coalition recreation center’s outdoor rink as a legacy for the NHL Winter Classic, the league announced today.

With the support of the NHL, Red Wings Foundation and DTE Energy, Clark Park has undergone renovations to its outdoor rink, with improvements like lighting and ice plant upgrades for energy efficiency, a Zamboni for proper ice maintenance, improved recycling programs and new bicycle racks.

Following a donation ceremony, Red Wings coach Mike Babcock and players Justin Abdelkader and Niklas Kronwall will take part on an on-ice clinic for youth skaters.
