The Muskegon Lumberjacks announced today that forward Cooper Marody has committed to the University of Michigan following his USHL career.

Marody, a Brighton native, is currently in his first season with the Lumberjacks, and ranks second on the team with 16 points.

“Ever since I was growing up, I’ve always wanted to play at Michigan,” Marody said in a statement from the Lumberjacks.  “My life-long dream of becoming a Wolverine and playing for coach (Red) Berenson has finally come true.”

Prior to joining the Lumberjacks, Marody played for Orchard Lake St. Mary’s, where he led the Eaglets with 42 points in 26 games as a sophomore. He was named First Team in Division 1 by the Michigan High School Hockey Coaches’ Association.
