USA Hockey announced today that the 2013 U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame induction ceremony and dinner will take place on Monday, Dec. 2, in Detroit.

The class – featuring Michigan’s Peter Karmanos Jr., Ron Mason and Doug Weight – will be honored at the Soundboard at Motor City Casino.

“We’re extremely pleased to bring the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame induction to the great state of Michigan and Hockeytown for the very first time,” said Dave Ogrean, executive director of USA Hockey, in a release. “The Class of 2013 is an extraordinary group and we expect a capacity crowd for this very special evening.”

Tickets will go on sale for the event on Tuesday, Oct. 15. This is the first time since USA Hockey took over the selection process and induction event in 2006 that it will take place in Michigan.
