Stephen Weiss is skating with his Red Wings teammates at The Joe to get ready for training camp. The new Wing told the Macomb Daily that he’s not trying to replace Valtteri Filppula (though many would argue he is an upgrade), but rather bring his own game to the organization and help the team improve.

Daniel Alfredsson told the Red Wings’ official site that while he’s not used to being with an NHL club not called the Senators, his adjustment to Detroit will go a lot smoother because of many familiar faces. Alfredsson played with Patrick Eaves, and has competed internationally with many members of the Wings’ Swedish contingent.
