Red Wings to host 2013 NHL Prospects Tournament in Traverse City

The Red Wings announced today that they will host the 2013 NHL Prospects Tournament at Traverse City’s Centre Ice Arena, beginning on Sept. 5.

The tournament will consist of these eight NHL clubs and their prospects:

  • Detroit Red Wings
  • Dallas Stars
  • Minnesota Wild
  • St. Louis Blues
  • Buffalo Sabres
  • Carolina Hurricanes
  • Columbus Blue Jackets
  • New York Rangers
The teams will be split into two divisions, both named after Red Wings legends. The Gordie Howe division contains Detroit, Dallas, Minnesota and St. Louis. Meanwhile, the Ted Lindsay division features Buffalo, Carolina, Columbus and New York.
Teams will play in a round-robin setting, taking on each team within their division before a crossover match on the final day of the tournament, which concludes with the division winners playing in the championship game on Monday, Sept. 9.
Tickets will be $10 per day. More information on attending can be found here.
