Less than an hour after the Griffins announced portions of their regular-season schedule, their NHL parent club released some info of their own.

The Red Wings announced their pre-season schedule today, and it offers home games against three Original Six clubs and rival Pittsburgh.

Detroit will open pre-season play on Monday, Sept. 16 at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, taking on the Penguins at 7 p.m. The next day, the Wings will take on the team that ousted them from the 2013 playoffs, facing off against the Blackhawks at the Untied Center at 8 p.m. ET.

On Thursday, Sept. 19, the Wings will begin the process of familiarizing themselves with new division foe and Original Six rival Boston, playing the Bruins at 7 p.m. at TD Garden.

Detroit will then host four straight home contests at Joe Louis Arena, starting with a rematch against Boston on Saturday, Sept. 21. That game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.

The next day, the Wings will welcome the Blackhawks to The Joe for a 5 p.m. Sunday afternoon contest.

Pittsburgh will come to Detroit for a 7:30 p.m. contest on Wednesday, Sept. 25, and Toronto will visit on Friday, Sept. 27. That game is another 7:30 p.m. puck drop.

The Wings will conclude the pre-season at the Air Canada Centre against the Maple Leafs on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 7 p.m.
