Muskegon Lumberjacks sold, pending league approval

By Michael Caples –

The Muskegon Lumberjacks appear to be changing hands this off-season.

The USHL club just released this statement:

The Muskegon Lumberjacks have announced that the organization is in the midst of a transaction that will transfer ownership from Josh Mervis to a new ownership team pending the approval of the United States Hockey League Board of Governors.

USHL Ownership Transaction Guidelines prohibit the release of the new ownership team until the transaction is approved by the USHL Board of Directors.  The new ownership team has communicated with USHL leadership their strong commitment to remaining in Muskegon and building on the solid foundation built by the previous owner.

The organization has also communicated with the City of Muskegon about the new ownership group and looks forward to continued mutually beneficial programming at the arena.  It is anticipated that the USHL Board will meet June 13th during its annual summer meetings to vote on the transaction.

Per an article on JuniorHockeyNews.com, former NHLers Chris and Peter Ferraro, along with Joel Friedman of Clearview Capital Management, LLC and Ronald Friedman of Silverman Acampora, LLP., will be taking over the Lumberjacks.
