USHL begins their 2013 Draft; 16 Michigan natives selected

The United States Hockey League started their 2013 draft today, with the “Futures Draft” being the first of the two nights of selections.

The 16-member league took turns drafting the top 1997 birth-year players during Phase 1 of the two-day draft.

Here are the Michigan natives who were selected on Day 1 of the USHL Draft:

1st Round

No. 6 – Indiana Ice – Zach Osburn (Honeybaked)

No. 8 – Muskegon Lumberjacks (no pick, used tender) – Chaz Switzer (Compuware)

No. 10 – Green Bay Gamblers (no pick, used tender) – Jr. Gates (Compuware)

No. 15 – Dubuque Fighting Saints – Gordon Green (Compuware)

 

2nd Round

No. 5 – Cedar Rapids RoughRiders – Austin Alger (Cranbrook HS)

No. 12 – Waterloo Blackhawks – Alexander Debrincat (Victory Honda)

 

3rd Round

No. 13 – Fargo Force – Brody Stevens (Compuware)

 

4th Round

No. 4 – Sioux City Musketeers – David Ovsjannikov (Oakland Jr. Grizzlies)

 

5th Round

No. 7 – Omaha Lancers – Jake Gingell (Compuware)

No. 13 – Fargo Force – Gregory Aliotta (Honeybaked)

 

6th Round

No. 7 – Omaha Lancers – Grant Gabriele (Compuware)

No. 11 – Licoln Stars – Keegan Ward (West Michigan Hounds)

No. 13 – Fargo Force – Evan Bell (Little Caesars)

No. 15 – Dubuque Fighting Saints – Colin Theisen (Compuware)

 

7th Round

No. 12 – Waterloo Blackhawks – Conner Jean (Brother Rice HS)

No. 14 – Sioux Falls Stampede – Brandon Scheiman (Honeybaked)
