CCHA Players of the Week – Feb. 18

The Central Collegiate Hockey Association announced their ‘Players of the Week’ today, and three Lake State Lakers were recognized for their efforts.

Postgame® Offensive Player of the Week

Domenic Monardo, LSSU

Sr., F (Oakville, ON)

Monardo scored twice and was the Perini Cup first star in a 5-1 win over Alaska on Friday. He added another goal in a 4-2 victory on Saturday to complete the sweep of the Nanos.

 

Gladiator® Defenseman of the Week

Matt Bruneteau, LSSU                        

Jr. (Omaha, NE)

Bruneteau had an assist in a 5-1 win over Alaska on Friday and had the game-winning goal and an assist in a 4-2 victory on Saturday  in a sweep of the Nanos. He also had four blocks and finished +6 on the weekend.

 

Warrior® Goaltender of the Week

Kevin Murdock, LSSU

Jr. (Bradenton, FL)

Murdock stopped 46 shots, and was named the Perini Cup third star, in a 5-1 win over Alaska on Friday.

 

Gong show® Rookie of the Week

Steven Fogarty, ND

F (Edina, MN)

Fogarty scored a goal in a 3-1 loss at Miami on Friday and had an assist in a 2-1 win over Miami on Sunday. He also finished +2 on the weekend.
