Looks like Luke Glendening will finally get his shot with the Griffins.

The University of Michigan alum and Grand Rapids native has been recalled by the Red Wings’ AHL affiliate, and is expected to skate with the team in their home game against the Rochester Americans Wednesday night.

If Glendening plays – puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Van Andel Arena – he will be the first Grand Rapids native to play for the Griffins.

The 23-year-old forward signed a one-year contract with Grand Rapids on June 19. He has spent the 2012-13 season with the Red Wings’ ECHL affiliate, the Toledo Walleye, and has recorded 14 goals and seven assists in 27 games.

In addition to recalling Glendening, defenseman Gleason Fournier and forward Andrej Nestrasil were reassigned to the Griffins by Detroit.
