CCHA Players of the Week – Dec. 17

The Central Collegiate Hockey Association announced their players of the last week today, and three of the four are Michigan connections. Lake Superior sophomore forward Stephen Perfetto was named offensive player of the week, and his teammate, Kevin Kapalka, was recognized as goaltender of the week. Livonia native Riley Barber, a Miami RedHawks standout freshman, was named rookie of the week.

Postgame® Offensive Player of the Week
Stephen Perfetto, LSSU
So., F (Woodbridge, ON)

Perfetto had a goal and assisted on the game winner in a 3-0 victory over Northern Michigan on Friday. He added an assist in a 3-1 win over the Wildcats on Saturday.
Gladiator® Defenseman of the Week
Shayne Taker, ND                
Jr. (Surrey, BC)
Taker scored a goal and added an assist in a 4-1 win at Bowling Green on Saturday. He also blocked a shot, had two shots on goal and finished +1.
Warrior® Goaltender of the Week
Kevin Kapalka, LSSU
Jr. (Mississauga, ON)
Kapalka stopped 29 shots, and was the Perani Cup second star, in a 3-0 shutout of Northern Michigan on Friday.
Gongshow® Rookie of the Week
Riley Barber, MIA
F (Livonia, MI)
Barber had an assist in a 1-1 tie/shootout win against Ohio State on Friday and had a goal and an assist, and was the Perani Cup third star, in a 3-1 win over the Buckeyes on Saturday.
