CCHA Players of the Week – Nov. 26

The Central Collegiate Hockey Association announced their players of the week today, with two Michigan connections honored for their past weekend performances.

Northern Michigan captain Scott Macaulay was named defenseman of the week, while Lake Superior State’s Eric Drapluk was named rookie of the week.

Postgame Offensive Player of the Week
Anders Lee, ND
Jr., F (Edina, MN)

Lee scored a goal, and was the Perani Cup second star, in 2-1 non-conference loss to North Dakota on Friday. He scored two goals, added an assist and was the Perani Cup first star in a 5-2 win over North Dakota on Saturday.

Gladiator Defenseman of the Week
Scott Macaulay, NMU
Sr. (Winnipeg, MB)

Macaulay had an assist, scored the game-winning goal in overtime and was the Perani Cup second star in a 4-3 (OT) win over Alaska on Friday. He added an assist in a 2-2 tie/shootout win against the Nanooks on Saturday. He finished the weekend +2 with four shots on goal and two blocks.

CCHA Goaltender of the Week
Brady Hjelle, OSU
Sr. (International Falls, MN)
Hjelle stopped 31 shots, and was the Perani Cup first star, in a 4-1 win at Lake Superior on Friday. He allowed one goal and stopped 18 shots in relief in a 3-2 loss to the Nanooks on Saturday. He finished the weekend with a 1.14 goals-against average and a .961 save percentage.

Gongshow Rookie of the Week
Eric Drapluk, LSSU
D (Pembroke Pines, FL)

Drapluk had an assist in a 4-1 loss to Ohio State on Friday and added an assist in a 3-2 win over the Buckeyes on Saturday.  He finished the weekend with three shots on goal.
