Lumberjacks’ Carter Foguth commits to Minnesota State University, Mankato

The Muskegon Lumberjacks announced today that defenseman Carter Foguth has commited to Minnesota State University, Mankato of the Western Collegiate Hockey Assocation, beginning in the 2013-14 season.

The Fenton native had this to say in a statement released by the team:

“I am very excited for being given the opportunity to play hockey at the college level; the coaching staff and players at the university made me feel welcome and right at home. It has been a long journey for my family and I, and I am grateful to have received an immense amount of support from the Mervis family and the Muskegon Lumberjacks.”

Foguth was acquired by the Lumberjacks in July of 2010, and is in his third season with the club. He currently has two points in ten games. From 2010-12, Foguth recorded one goal and ten assists in 89 games. Before Muskegon, Foguth played a season with the Marquette Rangers of the North American Hockey League, recording one goal and eight assists in 45 games.
