From The Crease: Drills For Explosiveness

I always like to work on the explosiveness in my game in one way or another. Here are some clips of me working on my leg power while moving on my feet. This is a drill that is designed for a goalie to explode forwards and backwards in a very short distance. Make sure to develop both legs by alternating which foot you stop with.

In order to make this drill more difficult, you can add a butterfly on your way forward…

…Or on your way backwards. Just remember to get up on both legs instead of always using your dominate leg. Also, work on keeping your chest and gloves up when exploding into the butterfly.
