The Detroit Red Wings announced today that 19-year-old Tomas Jurco has been signed to a three-year entry-level contract.

A native of Kosice, Slovakia, the 6’2”, 193-pound forward was drafted by the Red Wings in the second round – 35th overall – of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, but has spent the last three seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League playing with the Saint John Sea Dogs.

Jurco enjoyed success throughout his career with the Sea Dogs. In 172 career games Jurco recorded 175 points – 87 goals and 88 assists – and registered a plus/minus of +126. In the playoffs, Jurco continued his dominance, registering 64 points in 56 President’s Cup Playoff games.

Per team policy, the Red Wings did not release any further details regarding the deal.
