Shaved Ice – Dec. 2

Congrats, you’ve survived another work week.

Quick hits

Here’s a look at what your favorite teams will be doing this weekend.

The Red Wings head to Buffalo, where they will face Ryan Miller and the Sabres. The Wings are 8-2 over their last 10 games, while Buffalo is 4-5-1. Michigan native Chris Conner has been called up from Grand Rapids by the Wings; we’ll keep you updated on how he does.

Michigan travels to Alaska for a two-game set. With a 3-5-2 conference record, the Wolverines need to get over the potential jet-lag early, and pick up some CCHA points on the road.

The Spartans, meanwhile, welcome Bowling Green to East Lansing. MSU is 7-2-1 over their last ten games, but like their rivals in Ann Arbor, need to pile up some conference wins. Bowling Green is 1-8-1 in conference play this season.

Western Michigan and Ferris State clash in a big weekend set in Big Rapids. The Bulldogs currently hold the No. 6 spot in the country, while the Broncos sit at No. 12. However, only three points in the CCHA standings separate the two teams, which makes this weekend even more important for both.

Lake Superior travels to Columbus for a battle between the second and third-place teams in the CCHA. The No. 11 Lakers will try to once again cause problems for the No. 7 Buckeyes – last year they knocked them out of the conference playoffs in the first round.

The Whalers have back-to-back home games this weekend, tonight hosting Sault Ste. Marie, and tomorrow taking on Guelph.
