Shaved Ice – Oct. 24

Quick hits

Take a look at our Friday night recaps here, then we’ll get you caught up for the rest of the weekend.

Saturday/Sunday notes:

Highlight reel

Here’s the video highlights from the Wolverines’ Saturday night win over Northern.

Outside the Mitten:

  • Former Spartan and Michigan native David Booth will be living even farther away from the Mitten now. The skilled forward was traded from the Panthers to the Western Conference champs in Vancouver over the weekend. Here’s to hoping Booth thrives in his new home – a little bit more of a hockey hotbed.
  • Andy Miele, last year’s Hobey Baker winner, made his NHL debut for the Phoenix Coyotes last night. The Grosse Pointe Woods native only had one shot on goal (and a penalty), but they are expecting big things for him out in the desert.

Check it out

Get to know Miele all over again with this video from the Coyotes’ website.

Shaved Ice is the new daily blog for MiHockeyNow.com. Every morning, we will share a comprehensive summary of what’s happening in hockey around the Mitten – in the hopes of starting your day off right. Because let’s face it, what’s better than a little hockey in the morning?
